New Solar Cells for One of the World’s Biggest Train Stations: 300,000 Kilowatt Hours of Electricity Annually for New York
2,900 solar panels needed to be packed and sent by ship to New York to complete the new roof of the Stillwell Avenue Train Station. With its 57,000 ft² (5,300 m²) that makes the Stillwell Station the largest thin-film solar module equipped roof in the world. After almost 30 years of construction the completely modernized train station will be officially opened this May.
